Minister in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois
• Originally signed by the Lions as an undrafted rookie free agent April 28, 2005, but was released during the preseason
• Re-signed with the Lions January 2 and then allocated to NFL Europe
January 9 and also signed by the Atlanta Falcons
• Played the 2006 NFLE season with Hamburg Sea Devils and led the
league with 50 punts for 2,045 yards and a long of 65
• Set school record for career punt average (41.3)
• Career punting numbers at WMU include 190 punts for 7,846 yards… All-MAC second team (2004)
• His 42.8 punting average led the MAC and ranked 20th nationally
• Set WMU single-season punt average record (43.9)
• All Mid-Michigan Conference selection senior year at Chesaning High (Mich.)
• Played on High School state championship team as a junior.

Carlos Smith

In 2001 Carlos played in 2 games, had 4 tackles 1 of which was a sack for 4 yards. In 2000 Carlos made the MAC Football Honor Roll, was a WMU Scholar Athlete, and played in all 12 games. Carlos made the 1999 MAC Football Academic Honor Roll, started the first 5 games, made eight tackles against
Florida (5 of them solo), and he made 5 solo tackles against Missouri. Carlos was the 1998 Golden Horseshoe Award winner for special teams play, made the 1998 MAC Academic Honor Roll, and sat on WMU’s Player Cabinet. In 1997 Carlos made All-state and was a selection for the 1998 East-West All-Star Game. He was a two-time all city and all-league. Carlos won 3 letters and was selected as MVP.
